UK Championships 2024
A huge congratulations to all our member bands who won prizes at the UK Pipe Band Championships in Bangor yesterday 18th. May . What a win for the St. Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band in Grade 1! They had a massive performance in a grade full of brilliant performances. Congratulations to Alen Tully and Stephen Creighton and all the crew on a wonderful achievement. The band have been working really hard all through the winter and have already performed a sell-out concert in Aberdeen. The hard work is certainly bearing fruit.

The 2024 AGM of the IPBA
The AGM of the Irish Pipe Band Association took place in the Hibernian Hotel in Mallow on Saturday 20th. January. For the first time in our history, we held a blended meeting with some bands attending in person and others attending via zoom.
This AGM was particularly noteworthy as it marked the last official act of our long serving President Con O’Connell .
A number of presentations were made to Con on his retirement including a booklet detailing his contribution to the IPBA and other cultural organisations in Ireland and giving some background on his family life and career in the Irish Tourism sector.
Con was also presented with a tune written in his honour by Pipe Major Tim Farrelly of the St. Joseph’s, Clondalkin, Pipe Band.
Chairman of the RSPBA ,Northern Ireland Branch, Alastair Patterson, made the long trip down from County Tyrone to present Con with a commemorative plaque.
Pipe Major Terry Tully, was duly proposed as the incoming President, and Con officially presented Terry with the chain of office.
