Massed Pipe Band at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann
The massed band is open to all pipers, drummers, and drum majors.
There will be massed band parade along the Quays in Wexford finishing at the Fleadh Gig Rig where President Michael D.Higgins will perform the opening ceremony. The parade will be lead by Senior Drum Major Louis Anderson of the New Ross & District Pipe Band.
On the Day
Pipers, drummers and Drum Majors should assemble the Wexford County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford (Y35 WY93) for 13.00 on Sunday August 3rd.
A bus will ferry the players to the starting point at the Talbot Hotel on the Quays in Wexford Y35 FP9P .
The parade will commence at 2.30. The parade route is along the Quays in Wexford as far as Wexford Bridge.
The official opening of the festival will take place at 15.00 . The President of Ireland , Michael D. Higgins, will perform the opening ceremony.
Players will be ferried back to the County Council Offices after the parade.

Drum tippings will be stock 4/4 tippings and links to all tunes , drum scores and sound files will be included on this event page.
We have been asked to specifically include a number of Wexford tunes in the massed band repertoire this year.

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 Massed Pipe Band Logistics
- Assemble at the County Council Offices between 13.00 and 13.30
- A shuttle bus will be provided from the County Council Offices to the parade starting point at 13.30 and participants will be transported back to the Council Offices for refreshments after the massed band parade.
- The massed pipe band will assemble in the car park opposite the Talbot Hotel at 1.45 . Trinity Street , Wexford. Y35 FP9P
- We’ll tune up and run through the repertoire at 13.45 . It’s a massed band so if there are players who don’t know every tune, no worries. Come along and join in.
- Drumming scores will all be stock 4/4 tippings. The slow tunes will be led by New Ross drummers but will be very simple rolls, etc.
- The parade will commence at 2.30 p.m. sharp.
