As part of our youth development plan the Leinster Branch are trialling a practice run for new/inexperienced players.
This involves a band with Junior members, whom they wish to have play alongside more experienced members, perform in a contest setting and receive a judges’ comment sheet.

The aim is to encourage inexperienced players to partake at the contest on the

day and gain the experience of a controlled start, playing into an arena, forming a circle and executing a finish.

This performance may take the form of simple marches as appropriate to the inexperienced players.

To facilitate bands heading to the first Major in Edinburgh, if a band so chooses, we will allow them to play their alternate set and receive a set of judges’ sheets.

Bands taking part in the contest can play up a Grade once they meet the necessary syllabus requirements as per tune selection and time constraint if applicable.
