SUMMARY:Massed Pipe Band at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann
DESCRIPTION:The massed band is open to all pipers, drummers, and drum majors.\nThere will be massed band parade along the Quays in Wexford finishing at the Fleadh Gig Rig where President Michael D.Higgins will perform the opening ceremony. The parade will be lead by Senior Drum Major Louis Anderson of the New Ross & District Pipe Band.\nOn the Day\nPipers, drummers and Drum Majors should assemble the Wexford County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford (Y35 WY93) for 13.00 on Sunday August 3rd. \nA bus will ferry the players to the starting point at the Talbot Hotel on the Quays in Wexford Y35 FP9P . \nThe parade will commence at 2.30. The parade route is along the Quays in Wexford as far as Wexford Bridge. \nThe official opening of the festival will take place at 15.00 . The President of Ireland , Michael D. Trinity Street , Wexford. Y35 FP9P\nWe’ll tune up and run through the repertoire at 13.45 . It’s a massed band so if there are players who don’t know every tune, no worries. Come along and join in.\nDrumming scores will all be stock 4/4 tippings. The slow tunes will be led by New Ross drummers but will be very simple rolls, etc.\nThe parade will commence at 2.30 p.m. sharp.\nAll tune settings and recordings can be found at https://ipba.ie/events/massed-pipe-band-at-fleadh-cheoil-na-heireann ( https://ipba.ie/events/massed-pipe-band-at-fleadh-cheoil-na-heireann )\nAll pipers and drummer please feel free to join in.
