Death of Stephen Power

It is with sadness that we report on the passing of Stephen Power of Mullinavat, Co. Kilkenny.

Stephen, a former member of the Scots Guards pipe band in London, was a piper of great ability having mingled with the very best of pipers worldwide in that band. He returned to Ireland in the late 1960s. He thoroughly enjoyed passing on the experiences he had gained to bands and more particularly to individual pipers who wished to excel at the playing of the bagpipe. There are many excellent pipers in Ireland today due to the kindness of Stephen in passing on the knowledge and skills that he had developed.

Our sympathy to his daughter Cathy, son Stephen, son-in-law Shay, grandson Lee and his fiancée Áine, relatives and friends.

Funeral Arrangements:
Reposing at Waterford University Hospital this Wednesday evening.
Removal at 7.30pm to St. Beacon's Church, Mullinavat, Co. Kilkenny.

Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am followed with Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Finbarr Connolly,
Hon Secretary IPBA.
